The Pharmacy Guild of New Zealand is rolling out Pharmacy Sleep Services home testing model to members.
The sleep services programme equips pharmacists to identify, screen, test and treat patients with obstructive sleep apnoea, said Michael Held, Pharmacy Sleep Services’ lead. “The traditional approach to diagnosing sleep disorders requires the patient to be referred to a sleep clinic for a supervised overnight sleep test. This is an at home sleep testing model, scored by an external qualified sleep physician (so) the community can get immediate access to sleep testing and results when needed.”
