The New Zealand Association of Optometrists (NZAO) has appointed Peter Anderson as its new executive officer.
With more than 15 years’ experience working at a senior level for membership organisations, Anderson said he’s enthusiastic about leveraging his knowledge to benefit the NZAO. “I am most looking forward to exploring opportunities to add value, implement continuous operational improvements and, in due course, meeting the members to learn what matters to them in their professional lives.”
Educated in Zimbabwe, Anderson trained as a military paramedic, spending five years in active service. “In 1978, with the encouragement of my Kiwi father, my family and I visited Aotearoa to see what all the fuss was about, and stayed.”
Anderson has worked in medical sales, marketing and senior management, his most recent role being executive director of Occupational Therapy New Zealand – Whakaora Ngangahau Aotearoa.
