ODMA’s boutique optical fair, the O-Show will be held in Sydney for the first time in 2020 during a new mid-May weekend time slot.
With Melbourne now well-served by the larger, biennial O=Mega fair and conference, the popular, more intimate O-Show will continue to be held on a two-yearly basis in O=Mega’s off year, more often than not in Sydney, said ODMA CEO Finola Carey. “We didn’t want to leave the Sydney market unattended for a long period of time, and we wanted to look after the people of Sydney who weren’t in a position to travel to O=Mega.”
The O-Show has taken over the former Southern Regional Congress’ (SRC’s) mid-May time slot, given SRC is now part of O=Mega, as it’s proven to be a popular time, said Carey. “It will still be very pleasant (weather-wise) in Sydney and we feel, strategically, it’s a good time for equipment companies, and by then all the eye wear companies will have their new stock from Mido.”
The O=Show will continue to be CPD-free and have a limited number of exhibitor spaces, she added.
The 2020 O-Show will be held at the Hordern Pavilion, Moore Park, Sydney on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 May next year.
