The Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Board’s (ODOB) practitioner portals and public website have fallen victim to a cyber-attack, preventing access to many of the Board’s core systems.
The attack has impacted several New Zealand government and business organisations, including the NZ National Nurses Association and the Ministry of Justice.
The ODOB said there is no evidence that data has been compromised but its IT provider is working with forensic experts and external cyber security specialists to understand the nature and extent of the impact.
For the time being, the Board said its practitioner portal (myODOB) and website will remain offline. For urgent concerns regarding the incident, contact registrar Elmarie Stander on [email protected]
