The University of Melbourne and University of Auckland are collaborating to find out more about the use of omega-3 essential fatty acids by optometrists in practice, and they need your help.
The study is being undertaken by former New Zealand Optometry Student Society president Ceecee Zhang as part of her PhD, under the supervision of Associate Professor Jennifer Craig and Dr Laura Downie. As part of this study she’d like optometrists to complete a survey relating to the recommendations they make to their patients about omega-3 fatty acids. This survey asks about both long-chain omega-3 fatty acids, derived from marine-based sources (eg. fish and seafood) and short-chain omega-3 fatty acids, derived from plant-based sources (eg. nuts and seeds).
The survey should take about seven minutes and responses are anonymous.
