The US Vision Council is hosting a virtual eyewear auction and donating all the proceeds to the Equal Justice Initiative and My Brother’s Keeper Alliance charities.
The auction begins on Friday 19 June at 6pm EDT (Saturday 20 June, 10am NZST; 8am AEST), during a virtual happy hour hosted by Vision Council’s Tarrence Lackran, and closes on Friday 26 June at 11.59pm EDT (Saturday 27 June 3.59pm NZST; 1.59pm AEST). The start date honours the US Juneteenth celebration, a long-recognised day commemorating the abolition of slavery.
