Focusing on how individual actions drive collective success, the OPSM 2024 Eyecare Roadshow celebrated the company’s commitment to deliver great eyecare through everyday excellence.

Held across Australia and New Zealand, the event brought together optometrists, eyecare leaders and industry partners to reflect on progress in the field and pave the way for an exciting future, said EssilorLuxottica New Zealand eyecare manager Tegan Matheson.

Nominated by her peers, this year’s prestigious Optometrist of the Year Award was presented to Alice Ku (OPSM Queen Street) for her consistent delivery of all-around excellence in eyecare. The Myopia Excellence Award was bestowed upon Lesley Kung (OPSM Northwest) for best-practice myopia management.

The roadshow introduced EssilorLuxottica’s new eyecare values and newly appointed eyecare values ambassadors. The New Zealand ambassadors Timothy Robinson, Anh Dao, Anas Al-Ibousi, Kishan Mistry, Frances McMullin, Cynthia Tong and Nancy Liao, were appointed for consistently embodying EssilorLuxottica values, including the importance of working together, care, passion and agility to deliver everyday excellence, Matheson said. The dedication towards excellence reaches beyond the network, she added, exemplified by the 219 optometrists who helped shape the future of eyecare by mentoring students and new graduates over the past year.

EssilorLuxottica also shared news about its continued ANZ investments in cutting-edge technology, including an expansion of ultra-wide retinal imaging technology in 80 locations and OCT across 55 locations by year end.

“With the conclusion of the 2024 Eyecare Roadshow, it is clear that the future of eyecare within EssilorLuxottica is bright – powered by a strong culture of innovation, collaboration and a relentless commitment to excellence,” Matheson said.
