Optos Australia has appointed Renee Slunjski its Australia and New Zealand regional product specialist.
Slunjski has six years of clinical experience in private practice in Adelaide and represents South Australia on the Optometry Board of Australia. In this newly created role, Optos said Slunjski will use her clinical experience to assist practitioners with optimal use of Optomap devices and software, run education sessions and provide continual support to customers. “The Optos portfolio will allow Renee to collaborate with optometrists and ophthalmologists in clinical studies as well as develop models to improve care for Australians and New Zealanders living in rural and remote areas,” said the company in a statement.
Slunjski said she is excited to bring her clinical acumen to Optos and learn a new side to the eyecare industry. “We have a common goal as clinicians, to look out for our patients and for each other. It’s equipment like Optomap that, when used correctly, can help prevent disability and reduce the pressure on our healthcare systems.”
Slunjski graduated with a master of optometry degree from Flinders University in 2016. She is endorsed in ocular therapeutics and practiced with an independent optometry group in metropolitan Adelaide before joining Optos. Slunjski has also undertaken eyecare educational placements in remote Aboriginal communities, in Nepal through Rotary, and with the State University of New York.
