Due to ongoing uncertainties with Covid-19, Orthoptics Australia (OA) is also hosting its 77th annual conference virtually, delivered in a shorter weekend format from 26-27 February 2022.
“We want to ensure that the upcoming conference is safe and accessible for all members. Therefore, the OA board has made the difficult decision to convert the February 2022 conference to a fully virtual event,” the board announced.
The conference, themed ‘Together, looking to the future…’ will feature presentations from renowned international and local speakers, including keynotes Dr Dinesh Palipana from Griffith University in Queensland, who’s talk is entitled ‘It starts with one, but it takes many’; and Melbourne Laureate Professor Hugh Taylor, the Harold Mitchell professor of indigenous eye health at the University of Melbourne, who will discuss, ‘The future of eyecare; closing the gap’.
