Glaukos announced it has enrolled its first patient for phase 2 trials of GLK-302, a pilocarpine-based cream applied to the outer eyelid to treat presbyopia.
Glaukos said it expects to enrol 120 presbyopic subjects to the trial of three different doses of GLK-302, the company’s second drug to use its iLution cream-based platform.
The trial represents a significant milestone in the development of our iLution platform and for the company, said Thomas Burns, Glaukos president and chief executive officer. “We believe iLution has the potential to address the major unmet need for presbyopic patients by providing an effective, easy to administer, safe, dropless transdermal therapeutic.”
