The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) has launched ‘The Tick’, an endorsement that an event has achieved 35% female representation.
Developed by RANZCO’s Women in Ophthalmology group, chaired by Kiwi glaucoma and neuro-ophthalmology specialist Professor Helen Danesh-Meyer, a website or conference programme that has won the right to display The Tick logo has demonstrated “a commitment to gender equality, diversity of thought and excellence,” said RANZCO.
At the same time as unveiling The Tick initiative, Women in Ophthalmology also launched its much-anticipated Speaker Bureau, a flipbook of RANZCO fellows and trainees who are keen to speak at events. Event organisers can search the database for speakers by topic, gender and location.
