Some RayBan non-prescription sunglasses are being recalled in Australia as the lenses could break and cause eye damage.
The brown tortoiseshell sunglasses were sold in Big W optical stores from 2016 until January this year. The recall does not apply to sunglasses that have prescription lenses.
A recall notice issued by Product Safety Australia said the sunglasses may not comply with the mandatory standard Consumer Protection Notice No. 13 of 2003 - Consumer product safety standard: Sunglasses and fashion spectacles. Some non-prescription lenses may not be strong or robust enough and may crack or break under pressure or there may be a variation between the left lens and the right lens. Broken lenses may cause eye damage, it added.
The recalled sunglasses are style RB4175. The style number is located on the inside of left arm of the glasses.
Consumers who bought the product should return it to a BIG W Optical store for a full refund.
