Japanese lens manufacturer Tokai Optical has launched its No Reflection Coating (NRC), in response to the post-pandemic reliance on screen use.
In a statement, Tokai, which also has an Australian outpost, explained people perceive green light at 555nm to be the brightest, whereas wavelengths of purple or red are the least intense. NRC turns reflected colours to a bluish purple, reducing luminous efficacy reflectance to around a quarter of conventional multi-coatings, it said.
