Former Fred Hollows Foundation CEO Michael Lynskey was one of seven Australian eye health experts to receive royal recognition in this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours.
The sight charity’s CEO from 1992-2004 was made a Member (AM) of the Order of Australia for his ‘significant service to international eye health programmes, and to the community’.
Two fellow recipients of the Member of the Order of Australia this month are Dr Joseph Reich and Professor Dao-Yi Yu, both winning the accolade for significant service to ophthalmology and to education. Professor Steven Krilis, a researcher in the field of inflammation and immunology, was made an AM for his contribution to medical research.
