Auckland-based health tech company Clanwilliam Health has developed Healthlink SecureIT Cloud to allow New Zealand’s health professionals to access the private Connected Health network from the cloud.
Previously, health professionals have needed a Healthlink SecureIT Gateway black box physically installed on their premises to access Connected Health, a standards-based, ‘network of networks’ delivered on a private, competitive basis, enabling the health sector to share patients’ information without using the internet.
There is a myth that accessing Connected Health from the cloud is impossible, said John Carter, Clanwilliam’s chief technology officer. “That’s simply not true. We’ve developed the technology to connect to Connected Health from the cloud in an affordable, secure and easy way.”
New Zealand is the only country in the world that has a private network for transferring health information. Clanwilliam Health heads up the Australasian health IT arm of the Dublin-based Clanwilliam Group.
New Zealand’s entire health sector will benefit from this development, said Carter.
