Current darts world champion, Englishman Luke ‘The Nuke’ Littler, said he’s grateful his parents arranged surgery to correct his strabismus at an early age.
Now 19 years old, Littler told Sky Sports he had surgery when he was about four (after starting to play darts at 18 months of age). “Obviously, when I was younger, I didn't really care. But now you look at it, it was a good thing to get done at the time, but I don't have memories of it now. But, obviously, it had to be done.”
Littler recently partnered with Oakley, using its Meta smartglasses to record his training sessions and provide his social media followers a first-person view of him in action. “I get to properly watch back how my darts fly so I can fine-tune my throwing technique and get it spot-on for competition season,” he told City AM.
After beating fellow English man Rob Cross to reach the quarter finals of the World Darts Championship in December 2025, Littler was heckled by Cross supporters. The teenager made headlines for his response to the audience on the night. "Am I bothered? Really not bothered! Can I just say one thing? You guys pay for the tickets and you pay for my prize money, so thank you – thank you for my money! Thank you for booing me."
