The much-anticipated Australasian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (AUSCRS) Advanced Trainee Day will be held on the afternoon of 17 July, just prior to the 2019 AUSCRS meeting, which this year is being held in Queenstown, New Zealand, from 17-21 July.
This programme has evolved to become one of the highlights of the meeting for this group of learners, say organisers. “Each year we have a different theme, focusing on topics traditionally not specifically covered throughout the vocational training programme. We aim for this day to be immersive – the trainees are involved in production and delivery of content, and actively participate on the day with as much practical content as possible. Feedback is always great, and the trainees are involved when it comes to setting topics for subsequent years.”
The theme of this year’s Advanced Trainee day is How to give a great presentation and will include concept and content generation; slit lamp photography and choosing the best images; movie production; verbal presentation skills; and slide preparation.
Trainees are sponsored by AUSCRS to attend the training and then stay on for the entire meeting. Spaces are limited. To apply, visit: http://tinyurl.com/Advanced-Trainee
