Non-profit VR cataract training organisation HelpMeSee has launched an interactive eBook on manual small incision cataract surgery (MSICS), offering an immersive multimedia learning experience with simulation and live surgery videos.
Developed by HelpMeSee’s surgeons, the step-by-step guide covers all aspects of surgical care for cataract patients, with detailed technique descriptions making it an effective supplementary guide for MSICS training, said the organisation.
The eBook launch heralds the establishment of the HelpMeSee eBook Fund, which dedicates all profits to providing no-cost surgery for people suffering from unnecessary cataract blindness in poorer countries. A buy-one-give-one option also provides eBook access for one year and gifts a second licence to an ophthalmologist in the developing world.
